I was 16 when this happened and living with my parents. Anyways, I woke up one morning and was getting ready for my friend to pick me up to meet up with our group of friends for some event (don't remember what it was) when my dad came in my room. He saw me getting ready and asked where I was going. I told him my plan and he asks me not to go. I scoff at him and ask, "Why?" He responded with saying that he just wants me home today. I had not made eye contact with him prior to to this point, as I was preoccupied getting ready, but I'll never forget the look on his face. I'd never seen him look so concerned and scared at the same time. That look just made me stop dead. He didn't even blink. I agree not to leave if it would make him happy. He nodded and walked out. I had no idea what the hell had just happened, but I texted my friend some bullshit excuse like I was grounded or something.
Then, I went to go find my dad to see what was going on with him. He was sitting down on the couch so I ask him if everything's okay. He says he's okay, but I can tell something's bothering him. After prodding a bit more, he finally relented and told me what had happened.
According to him, he was sleeping last night when he woke up to see me standing at the foot of his bed smiling at him. He said he asked me if everything was okay as he turned to fall back to sleep, but I didn't answer. When his question went unanswered, he turned back over and watched as I "faded away into the darkness." He rubbed his eyes and thought he must have been dreaming I was there. He brushed off the creepy feeling that had come over him and went to check on me. As he crossed the threshold into my room he felt a disturbing chill scurry down his spine. He watched me for a few moments and turned to exit my room when he felt the same chill come over him as he crossed the threshold to exit. It was unnerving.
He eventually was able to go back to bed that night, but when he woke up, he had this feeling like something bad was going to happen to me. Once he heard me getting ready in my room, that's when he came in to ask me to just stay home that day.
Well, later that afternoon, I get a call from an unknown number. It was the mother of the friend that was supposed to pick me up. Apparently, on his way to the event, he was making a left turn when an oncoming truck ran a red light and T-boned my friend's car. The truck completely caved in the passenger side of the vehicle. My friend was in the hospital with a broken arm and a concussion, but he would be fine. Luckily, he was alone. Luckily, I was not in the car.
