So this happened when I was younger, maybe around 10 or so. We live on the bottom of a very steep hill. You almost need to ride your brakes in order to obey the 30 mph speed limit. Our living room is situated at the front of our house. Our couch was up against the wall of that very wall. My sister and I wanted spend the night downstairs so we could stay up late and watch movies and such. We had everything set like blankets and pillows all downstairs ready for our night of entertainment. I was planning on sleeping on the couch while my sister had some mat set up on the floor to sleep on. My sister and I ended up getting into a argument of some kind (can't recall exactly why we were fighting) and it was enough for my mom to intervene. My mom had enough of our dispute and told us we can no longer sleep in the living room because of the way we were behaving. My sister and I both no longer felt mad at each other, but at our mom for ruining our night. So we all head upstairs to go to bed all upset about the whole situation.

Now this is where the story gets creepy. I wake up in the morning and look out my window to see an ambulance and firetruck sitting in my yard with a wrecked pickup truck (with a snow plow) nearby my yard in the woods a little ways. All confused about the whole situation I go downstairs to see what happened. Turns out a drunk driver was going down the hill, hit a deep culvert that comes before our house. He lost control of the truck and hit the very wall that our couch was up against. He had so much momentum that the wall didn't even stop him and kept going until a tree stopped him. The couch was mangled on one side and glass was strewn all over the floor of our living room. It still gives me the chills to this day thinking about how differently our night could've ended if we had ended up sleeping downstairs. I feel like something was watching over us that night. Some of the pieces of the plow our still lying in very spot where his truck stopped. I have some other creepy stories as well (saw a ghost in my room, some other creepiness in this house and another possible encounter with bigfoot watching me) if anyone wants to hear. This might get buried though....

Ghost Story Edit: This probably happened when I was around 12 years old. It was a very fast experience so there is not too much detail to describe. My brother and I shared a room. My brother's bed was on the opposite side of the room while mine on the other. To the left of my bed was a window and to the right (maybe about ten feet or so) was the door to leave the room. Now when this door was opened halfway, I could see what was behind the door but my brother would be able to the the opening part (hopefully that brings sufficient perspective).

Now I am a heavy sleeper. Like with my previous story (forgot to mention) the crash or commotion didn't even wake me up, ended up sleeping till around noon or so. So it takes quite a bit to wake me up from my slumber. My brother and I were both fast asleep. Then I wake up and my eyes are directly on my clock. From the second I woke up it reads 11:59 then changes to midnight exactly. Not sure why that's significant, I just thought it was weird. I've heard the witching hour is midnight but I've also heard it's 3 am. Here's where I see her. Maybe about a couple feet off the ground was her floating behind the door. There she was, a dense misty figure of a woman in a dress gazing into my soul. It's hard to describe the face but I remember how complacent she looked, she just looked sad. I remember seeing her dress flapping around as if it were windy in my room, which it wasn't. I was stricken with fear, so much in fact, that I could not move or yell to wake my brother up. I wouldn't even call it fear because I almost felt comforted by her presence as if she were a guardian of some sort. I had never seen anything like it before. We never broke eye contact. Then about maybe 5 seconds after she appeared, she slowly backed up into the door and was gone. The moment felt like an eternity but something deep down tells me that she was the one who woke me up and wanted me to see her. There was no noise or anything that awoke me, just silence.

Another time that creeped me out was when I was home alone. Just me and my dog. Now I know for a fact that there was no one else home, or at least so I thought. I'm downstairs in my living room just chilling out when all of a sudden I see my standing at the foot of my stairs. You know when something freaky is about to happen when animals start freaking out. It's like they have a sense. But here my dog is staring up the stairs. Teeth barred, growling and the hair on his back started to stand on end. Then he just started barking as he saw something. I go over there to see what it is. I look up the stairs to see nothing. Nothing at all. No noises or anything just a dog freaking out. But I swear when I looked up there, something was up there looking down at us. Because the hair on the back of my neck started to stand on end and started to get the chills. Now keep in mind this was in the middle of the summer so it was far from cold out at the time. I had to forcefully drag my dog away from the stairs in order to get him to stop. I still wonder what was up there....
