I have a lot of these types of stories, I don't know why creepy people and/or ghosts find me so attractive to fuck with, but here's one of them:

I've lived in rural areas for most of my life. The type of rural where there's a mile between houses.

One night, I was driving home from a closing shift at a retail store, which closed at 11PM. So by the time I was near my house it was about 11:30 PM. My house at the time was off a main road, onto a dirt road, and then onto a smaller dirt road, where 2 houses were, mine and my neighbor's. We knew each other quite well.

So, I turn off the main road onto the first dirt road, and then go down to the road my house is. But, right at the intersection, there's a person standing there, his back is away from me. He was wearing a red and black paneled flannel shirt, with some pretty muddy jeans and long black hair, with a beanie on top. It wasn't exactly an odd site, we have plenty of lumberjacks and the like around here, but why he was standing there, in the pitch blackness, piqued my interest.

I pull up next to him, roll down my window, and ask "Are you ok?". No response. I repeat the question. I then honk my horn and ask again. Still no response.

At this point, I am kinda creeped out, but more worried about what risks this guy might pose to my neighborhood. I park my car so my headlights are shining directly on him and get out. It's then when shit starts to get weird.

When I approach him, I noticed no matter where I am, his back is always facing me. I move to the left, his back is still facing me, right, still facing me. But he doesn't actually move. It's the oddest thing to describe, but it looks as though he's rotating without moving his feet, on some type of pivot.

I ask him again, "You're obviously not OK, you obviously don't live around here, what are you doing?". No response again.

And then, he started moving. You know that jerking motion that happens when someone is laughing, like their shoulders move up and down and their entire upper body sort of jerks up and down? Yeah, that's what he did. But there was absolutely no sound, no laughing, it just looked like he was.

So then I walk up to him, and touch him on the shoulder, as now I'm convinced that he's some sort of junky tripping balls, and want to get his attention, I always have a butterfly knife on me because I'm a little bit redneck, and he obviously wasn't armed with a gun. I reach out and touch him on the shoulder to get his attention, with the other hand in my pocket ready to pull out the knife. It's cold as ice. There is no body heat. This was not during winter either, it was midsummer and about 75 degrees out. He stops doing the silent laugh and becomes completely motionless again the moment my hand touches his shoulder.

I remove my hand very quickly from his shoulder, and back slowly towards my car, never losing vision of him.

I get back into my car, do a quick three point turn, look again where he was, an he was gone.

I have no idea what happened or what I met that night.
