I live in rural Northern California. I went on a road trip one time, don't remember where, but when I was driving back home, I stopped at a Highway rest stop. It was the middle of the night, in the middle of nowhere, deep in the Redwood forest. I was miles from any town and I had barely seen any cars on the road in a while.

I stop at the rest stop, and there's not another car in the parking lot. I get out of my car and grab a bunch of garbage out of the car to throw away, and as I'm walking toward the bathrooms, stop at the garbage cans to throw the trash away, I hear singing. This is not normal singing at all; it's hard to describe exactly what it was like... think Phantom of the Opera, some type of very slow, grandiose, operatic type singing. "Haunting" is the word I would use. I don't remember the words, but that song is etched in my memory forever.

The singing is faint at first, but only for a second. Because almost immediately, I see where the singing is coming from as a man comes walking around from behind the bathrooms. He's singing this slow, haunting song at the top of his lungs now and he is looking directly at me with absolute craziness in his eyes as he slowly walked towards me. Needless to say I turned straight around and jumped in my car and got the hell out of there as he continued to belt out his song and watch me as I drove away.
