Oh, I've got a great one.

When I was about 6 or so, I had been upstairs in my house watching TV. Apparently I'd fallen asleep, because the next thing I knew, it was night, and absolutely nobody was in the house. I walked cautiously downstairs to get the phone and called my mom.

Fortunately, she answered. She told me they thought that they could go eat while I was sleeping. (Yeah, I was kinda pissed.) Well, once I hung up the phone. I got a cup of water and sat down on the couch.

At this point in my life, I was irrationally afraid of the dark, so after sitting there for about 2 minutes I got up and ran around the house turning on every single light I could find, even in the garage and the pantry. I went to the foyer and was going to turn that on when I saw what appeared to be the silhouette of a person in our yard. My heart jumped. I ran and jumped on the couch, screaming.

I hurriedly called my mother back and told her what I saw. She obviously didn't see this as a very pressing matter, so she told me to calm down and get something to drink. This didn't satisfy me at all.

After hanging up, I went back to the fridge with my already half-full cup of water and got some more.

That's when I saw it. Clearly through the back door window. A freaking midget goblin with glowing, yellow eyes.

I dropped my water and ran for my life. I ran out of the house and to my next-door neighbors, hoping the goblin wasn't following behind me. The neighbors let me in and called my parents, telling them to come get me.

Eventually they came and got me, my mother with the most exasperated expression on her face.
