schola99 Thread

Made an account strictly to post in this thread. Bear with me as this will take some set up. This was in 2008 in Wisconsin. Me and a few friends were driving up north to stay at a buddy's cabin for Memorial day weekend, about a four hour drive from Milwaukee to Merrill. We left the city late because one of my friends coming with had to stay late for a rugby game, meaning we didn't actually get on the road until 10 p.m.

It's a fairly relaxing drive, not a lot to look at - mostly through farmland on four lane highways. I'd done this trip a few times but never at night and with the lack of city or highway lights it's essentially pitch black the whole way aside from the occasional light from car traffic, which was few and far between.

So, we're about three hours into the drive (about 1 a.m.) and me and my friends are keeping busy reading signs on the side of the highway because that's all there really is to look at. Then one of my friends reads one aloud that says "watch for school buses." Almost immediately about four car lanes in front of me, two red brake lights pop up out of the dark and we see a school bus completely surrounded by fog.

So now the whole car of guys is screaming. I have one friend telling me to pull off the highway, one saying drive past it and another saying slow down. I opted to try to pass it as my friend wanted to take some pictures. This proved to be difficult as the bus was going a generous 85 mph on a 65. After we finally got ahead of it, the bus drifted back into the dark and we couldn't see it again. Later looked up to see if there were any bus crashes on that stretch of highway (highway 29) and didn't turn anything up, but did find that it was nicknamed Bloody 29 because of all the awful wrecks that have happened since it was built. Could maybe be easily explainable as the photos don't really look all that paranormal but it's truly one of the scariest things that has happened to me. Here are the pics we got:
